Strand Meter
Track the force in cables and strands over the long term
BEAM-SG-ST20 · BEAM-SG-ST50
Anchor cables, tendons and structural strands gain or lose force over time. The strand meter clamps to the strand and measures deformation with a vibrating wire so you can follow the force for years.

A displacement transducer built for strands
A mounting bracket at each end grips the strand while the vibrating wire measures displacement between the two grips. From that displacement and the strand’s modulus, you get the change in force.
Brackets can be customised to the strand size. The instrument is suited to long-term structural, bridge, dam and anchor monitoring.
Built for the places where change matters.
Use the sensor where you need a stable, long-term view of the parameter at risk.

Grip the span. Hold the baseline.
Fix a mounting bracket at each end of the chosen span, clamping and bonding where specified so the brackets cannot slide. Set the sensor mid-range, connect to the VW node and log a baseline before load is applied or released.
Designed for the long read.
- Accurate, long-term stability
- Robust and reliable
- Waterproofing options
- Manual or remote reading
- Reusable gauge and coil
- Integral thermistor

The instrument is only the beginning.
Connect the sensor to an Ackcio BEAM-VW node and carry the measurement through Mesh to the monitoring view.
A few strand meters on a structure suit BEAM-VW-S8. A single instrumented anchor can use BEAM-VW-S1.
See your data on Snape
Readings arrive in the Snape dashboard as live time-series data in Micro-strain / force (kN). Check network health, node status and threshold conditions from the same view.

Specify the detail that matters.
BEAM-SG-ST20 and ST50 provide 20,000 or 50,000 με range. Bracket sizes are selected for the strand diameter.
