Crackmeter
Watch a crack or joint, down to a fraction of a millimetre
BEAM-CR · BEAM-CR-W
Cracks and joints tell you how a structure is moving. The Ackcio VW Crackmeter measures the opening or closing movement continuously, then carries the change into your monitoring dashboard.

A clear signal across a moving joint
The crackmeter spans a crack, joint or structural break with a sliding shaft and articulated anchors. As the gap changes, the internal wire frequency changes with it.
Use it where the question is not simply whether a crack exists, but whether it is opening, closing or changing over time.
Built for the places where change matters.
Use the sensor where you need a stable, long-term view of the parameter at risk.

Span the movement. See the trend.
Fix the anchors to sound material on either side of the crack or joint, align the sensor with the expected movement and establish a baseline before monitoring begins.
Designed for the long read.
- Stable long-term monitoring
- Robust articulated joints
- Manual or remote reading
- Biaxial/triaxial options subject to confirmation
- Integral thermistor
- Wireless trend visibility

The instrument is only the beginning.
Connect the sensor to an Ackcio BEAM-VW node and carry the measurement through Mesh to the monitoring view.
Use BEAM-VW-S1 for a single crackmeter or BEAM-VW-S8 when several movement instruments are grouped at one location.

Readings arrive in the Snape dashboard as live time-series data in Movement (mm). Check network health, node status and threshold conditions from the same view.

Specify the detail that matters.
BEAM-CR is the vibrating-wire crackmeter family. BEAM-CR-W is the wire-crackmeter variant; node mapping should be confirmed before publication.
